Our temporary tattoos
What is an temporary tattoo?
Also known as superficial temporary tattoos, transfer tattoos or decals, temporary tattoos look like real tattoos once they're on the skin.
The advantage of temporary tattoos? Well, they're not always irreversible.
And how does it work ?
The procedure is simple and particularly accessible, even to Bernard Henri-Lévy's regular readers:
- Remove protective film
- Apply the tattoo to the skin
- Wet the back of the temporary tattoo stuck to your skin by tapping the entire paper with a moistened sponge.
- Peel the wet sheet off your skin and admire the beauty of the tattoo on yourself!
Simple, basic! But above all: quick and painless :)
How long does a temporary tattoo last?
They last 3 to 4 days on average, but can last longer if, for example, you remain immobile and dry for several days...
It also appears that cryonics significantly increases the durability of temporary tattoos, but we lack the clinical feedback to confirm this.
What are temporary tattoos made of?
Will my skin melt?
Yes ! And it hurts like hell.
But no, no... our tattoo inks are hypoallergenic and contain no henna. Bernard's temporary tattoos are made from linseed or soybean oil. They comply with French standard NF EN 71-10, and European standard CE 1223-2009.
Where to apply an temporary tattoo?
You can place your temporary tattoo anywhere on your body, except :
- near the eyes
- in the mouth
- on the genitals (what an idea!)
How do I remove my temporary tattoo?
Temporary tattoos fade on their own over time. However, in an emergency, there are two solutions:
- Rub the tattoo with a greasy cream or body lotion
- Separating from the limb on which the tattoo is applied: it's effective, but it stings a little...
How do I store my unused tattoos?
Ideally, they should be kept in a dry place where the temperature does not exceed 25° C, and if possible out of direct sunlight.
If time has passed and you haven't stuck them on your skin after all, you can also recycle your tattoos by customizing objects. We give you some ideas in the article: Do it yourself: 5 DIY ideas for temporary tattoos.
