Lem breathes new life to the city of Roubaix
The good, the beautiful, the manly…
Friends of the Lille metropolis, you’ve no doubt already come across a funny, colorful light bulb head on the facade of a house slated for demolition, or a twisted, wiry animal sprawling across the condemned windows of a deserted building, or a motley aggregate of heads set one inside the other covering an entire section of a disused factory.
These bursts of color in the greyness are part of the work of Lem, a visual artist from Roubaix. He is particularly fond of the memorial aspect of these large disused industrial sites, to which he adds his graphic and poetic touch.
Lem extends and perpetuates this work in a wide range of media, from paintings and sculptures to illustrated books and textiles.
Lem at Bernard Forever
In short, an artist we’re particularly fond of here. That’s why, with our hearts full of pride, we’re presenting you with these two cute models designed by Lem.
For us, immortalizing the ephemeral paintings of an artist we really care about on a temporary tattoo is a joy as rare as it is considerable.
Cinemascope bonus: Lem mobile
We followed Lem during the preparation and opening of his exhibition at the MAC in Sallaumines.
